I really enjoyed this book! I wasn't expecting the ending, which was both exciting but partially confusing.

The world Tracy builds is vast and intricate, and unfortunately, the worldbuilding left some aspects slightly unclear for me.

Other than that, I thought the story and how the character's have processed their grief was very raw and profound.

(Mild spoiler alert) The bad guy literally monologues his whole plan unprovoked at one point… there are cool elements to this book but that will be the thing that haunts me.

This book is damn good. Really. I haven’t read YA fantasy in a while, and at first I was like ok whatever. But I soon realized this author is a truth teller, writing characters like real people who think things real people think. That is not something I’ve seen in modern fantasy or sci-fi for teens yet. I’ll read anything Tracy Deonn writes.
