Three stars means I Liked It.. yeah, that' about right. This will be a fun summer movie when it's optioned. The characters are all right (though the women are really really really one-dimensional, and worse in the audiobook voicing); the plot is pretty predictable, but the pacing is fantastic. It's enjoyable with these limitations.

The summary of the book is a little different than what I usually read, but it seemed interesting.  I couldn't get into it, so I dnf.

This is a page turning, dark thriller that I just couldn't put down. So many twists and turns

It's my second John Hart book and it was easily as good as "The Last Child," if not better.

Perfect summer read, but it is dark and very violent.

Excellent book with atmosphere and suspense. My only complaint is that he got the psychology wrong, but then it's a common misconception so I won't fault him too badly for it, since the book is so good otherwise. Highly recommended.

This book is not really my kind of story, but two people in my life told me it was really good, so I read it. The storyline is well written, and honestly kept me guessing until the end. I really liked the way the author didn’t leave any “loose ends”.

Fast paced, intense thriller. The kind you read with your heart racing. Non stop action and violence. Trigger warning: severe abuse and neglect of babies

Iron House is an unusually intricate thriller, with settings ranging from senators' mansions to the poorest forest shacks as we follow Michael, Julian and Abigail through a complex maze of discovery dealing with cruelty, love, bribery, family, murder, trust, mental illness and unswerving loyalty.

As the story unfolds, it gradually reveals the true motivations and machinations of the central characters while still managing to surprise even the most hardened thriller-reader at high speed right up to the very end.

A brilliant concept, well executed. Not much editing needed in this book. Very tight, intense from page one. An intricate plot fooled me and my wife until near the end. All believable. The one weak spot was the relationship between Michael and Elena. She came across as a bit whiny and wishy-washy. I didn't quite buy into her loving him as much as he loved her, so his desperation to try and save her and protect her seemed a bit artificial. But that was a minor point and maybe only my perception. A touching penultimate scene between Julian and Michael choked me up a little bit.

As a novelist, I looked (listened, actually) carefully for technical flaws or craft issues and found very few minor things (Hart has a few pet phrases such as " ... scrubbed his face with his palms ..." Characters were distinct, dialogue good for the most part ( a few cliches and some so-so exchanges between characters.

Any audiobook that can keep me wide awake while driving through eastern Colorado and western Nebraska is doing something right.

I couldn't put this book down! Read it in one night. I'd have given it five stars, but some of it felt very familiar, pieces of it too similar to his other books. I also though that the solution was obvious pretty early into the book. But...I really enjoyed his writing and how he weaves the characters together. I will continue to read his books.
