This was a lot of fun. Tanner and Louise’s dynamic was great from the beginning to the end.
Cute story. Truly one where young people listen to your elders especially if they are a bad ass pistol carrying grannies who ride around in a green jag.

This is a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat almost the entire story. Tanner & Louise have such different personalities and expectations of life. I loved it!
Very funny - I laughed out loud so much - and very cute and charming. Love that this focused on two women, an older woman and a college-aged one, with any romance on the side. Quick read and delightful for the beach.

I was excited to read this book, expecting something light-hearted and clever over the Christmas break. This was a very mediocre book in both writing style and content. For something that should have been a fun and quick read, it took me a relatively long time to finish as I wasn't excited about picking it up once I put it down. I didn't feel very engaged in the storyline, nor did I feel particularly invested in the characters. The ending felt inevitable (not a bad thing); however, I didn't enjoy the author's attempt to give every single character a satisfying "life-changing" ending despite establishing no concrete connection with that character (I'm looking at you, FBI agent Huang). There were valid themes, but it felt like the author was hitting you over the head with them instead of introducing them in a subtle and impactful way. I understand this would be considered a "fun read" as opposed to a literary masterpiece, but I found I had difficulty engaging with and enjoying it, even on that level. I would be open to reading a different Colleen Oakley book in the future, so any suggestions are welcome.
Fun and fast paced with enough heart and nuance to round out the characters (but not so much that it's sappy).
Colleen Oakley never disappoints!

So this ending was more/different than I expected. I would have liked the ending I imagined, but the actual one was even better! Such a fun ride all along, filled with moments from two wonderfully characterized women from vastly different generations who each made me chuckle a few times. Ultimately this book was very much about women being there for each other, more so than the synopsis hints at, and I LOVED THAT SO MUCH.
Quick read that was like taking a fun adventure with new friends. Great beach read or for when you want an easy and cute book.
4.5 stars, but I rounded up because it was just a fun read (listen).
