The story is hard to get into, multiple character POVs makes it difficult to connect with other characters and get involved in that story being told.
This book took me 4 years to finish. I am happy that I revisited and finished this book. As always Maas has done an excellent job at creating a new world, and the characters she places in them are entertaining and make for a great read.
It is 03:53 and I stayed up purely to finish this book, I loved it so much. 10/10 no notes.
Ok maybe two notes.
1) why is SJM the queen of cockblocking?! Every time things get heated, something interrupts. Gods I want to throw something at this point!
2) everyone is slightly annoying in the beginning disliking the wrong people for basically classist reasons, but honestly the plot was so good it kept me going until they pulled their heads out of their arses.
Anyway, I loved it. I adored it. I am starting the next one in the morning. I am so tired. I have never cried so hard for so long over a book, my eyes hurt.
House of Earth and Blood follows Bryce as she tries to solve the murder of her closest friends, aided by the Hunt Athalar, the Shadow of Death - an enslaved angel tasked with helping her by the city's ruling archangel. As Bryce and Hunt become closer to one another, sparks fly, and secrets are revealed. Meanwhile deadly predators both demonic and other are on the loose and time is running out.
