One of Hilderbrand’s weakest books, I found all the characters paper thin and somehow also unlikeable. There is also some offensive language that I’m surprised wasn’t edited out. I’d also call it out for the token Black characters and watered down gay characters, but honestly every person in here was awful and poorly drawn.

there were a few plot lines that felt unfinished to me (I would have loved a reunion with sallie and renata and maybe an epilogue) but this was so beautiful and heartbreaking!
