*Nb: partial outing scene which didn't get addressed which made me feel extremely awkward.

This was sweet, and very necessary. I love that it was for middle grade. The poetry format kind of annoyed me, but it grew on me as the book went on.

This is quite possibly the best book I have read this year. It is adorable, honest, important, and incredibly clever! Love is love is love is this book.

This book so accurately captured what it is like to have a crush, not sure about your feelings, wanting to touch the other person my accident on purpose and afraid what would happen if you did. Full disclosure, I am straight, but regardless, I found this book endearing and relatable. And honestly I loved that it was two girls depicted in such a sweet way. And when Tam talks to her mom about liking Kate without a big coming out story, and her mom is so happy... isn’t that just the best?? I loved the struggle to find themselves, to admit who they are and how they felt, to understand each other and face people who may think things about them that aren’t all good. And the poetry was beautiful and amazingly constructed. The only thing I didn’t like was the Alex pages because I didn’t think they were necessary. But even with those, 5 stars because I loved it so much. I would recommend this to anyone, tweens, teens and adults.
