3.7 AVERAGE

Perfectly fun, cozy mystery. Librarians! Cats! Mystery! Magic! This was just what I needed at this point in time. So, is it really a 4? Maybe not, but it totally hit the spot, so I'm taking that as a win.

First and foremost, on the cozy name scale, this is a 5/5. This is the start of new series about a magical librarian, so what else do I need? A coffee shop maybe where they can drink their drinks and discuss?

I love this as an opening for this series. It was fun and mysterious. The characters and the cozy ness were absolutely perfect.

I felt we were left on a bit of a cliffhanger, which I understand, but still wish it could have been wrapped up a bit cleaner to anticipate the next book. However, as a first in the series, it does have me already anticipating #2

Thank you Kensington and NetGalley for the gifted copy! I am so excited to see where this series will take us! Bait and Witch is out Dec 29th!

Great Beginning Series

This was a good start to a new series! Magic and mystery rolled into one. I love reading about witches first learning their magic and what all it takes to control. Ready to read the next mystery with Josie and her cute cat!

Solid cozy read, but there’s some slightly problematic parts to this book that make it unreadable for me :/

4.5 stars.

What a way to get back into reading! I read this book in two sittings, even stayed up until 5 AM to finish it. Loved that this was a paranormal cozy mystery. Josie made for a great main character, and was someone I could see myself being friends with. Loved the whole witch plot with the books. The townspeople were interesting, too. I sort of guessed the villain, but not the motive. The way this book ended, I need the next one soon! I need to know what's up with Sam. I can't wait to see what happens with Roz, Lyndon, Darla, and the rest.
