THIS REVIEW MAY BE KIND OF SPOILER-Y EVEN THOUGH I DON'T SAY ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS EXPLICITLY

3.5 maybe (i rounder it up)? i really liked the book, i think it has a very interesting plotline and the writing is beautiful (although sometimes a little repetitive, how can it be that eden and truman are different people and sometimes have the exact same thoughts with the exact same words as the other one. i get that they understand each other but no one can literally think like another person that accurately lol). the way their grief is handled is nice, interesting in how differently they handle it. but i think some things could be improved:
- at one point it all revolved around the romance and although katie was mentioned she was more of a secondary plot for a little there, only used as a device to bring them together.
- why have all these secondary characters if you're not going to do anything with them? like, what happened to manny? mona? santana and milo (almost forgot his name for a moment there)? the restaurant? all their stories were left wide open, we don't get any closure for them. even if they are not related to the main point of the book, they still need some sort of ending to their stories.

what i think would have really helped this book be that tad bit better is if it were longer, honestly. i wouldn't mind a hundred more pages just to flesh out and close off every side plot and side story, as well as really help in describing the main character's grief. i think more pages would have done it good, especially considering how nicely paced this book is. the narrating voices were fun and interesting, there wasn't a point where i got bored of them. although they were sometimes repetitive, they were very nicely done in my opinion, so i really wouldn't have minded more. but that may be just me.

overall, i liked this book. does it need some changes? for me it does, but i liked it nonetheless and it made me cry at 2 am so there's also that.

literally nothing was resolved, and there were so many plot holes.

manny and ramona?
the fate of the restaurant?
where was katie going?
clearly there were many things that eden didn’t know about katie, but it was never explored aside from the whole sky thing which was so cliched.
santana and the guy she cheated on truman with whose name i have forgotten? also how did that whole thing “somehow end up” with the three of them as besties?

i could keep going.

also, it kind of seems like katie sucked???? and she just left eden, even though she is said to have never allowed Eden and truman to be alone together? idk man, something doesn’t add up.
