Breathtaking. I can't wait to get the next one.

Re-read... prep for the final book in the series... love these books.

I enjoy Evans' work. He writes books that you can devour in one afternoon, and they usually end on a warmer note. He does tend to put a spiritual touch on his tales, but if you don't consider yourself to be a spiritual person (as I don't), it's not so overwhelming that it's distracting.

"The Walk" definitely hit on some life lessons that inspired thought and reflection. Short but mighty. It contained one of my favorite quotes, one in which I first read in "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese, "Life...You love it forward, but understand it backward." Now that I've read "The Walk", I learned it is Kierkegaard that gets credit for it. I also felt it ended abruptly, which is understandable, since I see that it's one of a six part series. It's possible that my curiosity will get me to pick up #2....

I'm usually a fan of Evans's books, but this one just didn't do it for me. It seemed like two seperate stories mahsed together and seemed to end abruptly.

This book is all about the journey of a man who has lost everything. He decides he wants to walk from Seattle to Key West. It's a short book but you fall in love quick with the characters and the road actually. Everyone he meets has some effect on him in one way or another. I loved this book and can't wait for the third one.

This was such a sad, sad story. I cannot imagine going though those things and well, wanting to get through it. Alan had a beautiful wife, his own ad company, a nice home and suddenly it was all gone. He decided to go on a walk, a long walk, across the whole continent. He set his sites to a place over 3,000 miles away. As he walked he did a lot of thinking and met some people who gave him more to think about. He doesn't finish his walk by the end of the book because something happened that required him to take a break. The book seems to end abruptly but it is the first in a series. It definitely gives a person plenty flood for thought. I'm glad I finally read it.

I enjoy reading books from this author but this one was slow to get started for me and not your typical feel good book from Richard Paul Evans. Since this story is a series, I’ll need to read the next book to truly appreciate where the story is going. I would recommend giving it a try.

I love reading Richard Paul Evans. The Walk is a quick spiritual read about finding your way through life after a death.
