She's back, still affecting and changing lives with her kindness and heart. She's moved to a new town, but still writes Leo letters to keep him up to date. It brought more happy tears to my eyes. Brilliant!

This book was about Stargirl, and how she is doing in her new part of the US.

The whole book is written in a letter form. A big letter just for Leo, though he will never ever get to see the letter.

She talks in the letters about her life in the new state, her new friends, her new projects. Luckily in this book she is less noisy, less annoying. But now we got new characters who kind of take over that role. 2 kids specifically.

Also something that annoyed me that it was really hard to guess ages (just like book 1 had). Stargirl eventually is revealed to be 16, while I mostly felt she was 12 or 14. It was all in the way how she acted and talked to people. Same goes for various other characters, I expected them like 10 or 12 or so, and they turn out to be older. That caused some strange scenes though. Like with the new boy she met, I kept finding it strange that she was interacting like an adult, while the guy felt more like he was a kid. And then we find out they are both of the same age...

I really loved this book though, I especially loved the format. The write a big letter to Leo thing was cute and it was wonderfully done.

Not as good as the original, but it was fun reading a story from Stargirl's point of view.

I was disappointed in this one because it kind of took some of the magic away form Stargirl. Compared to the person we saw in the first book, she seemed pretty ordinary, especially for a lead character in a novel. The ending was excellent and probably saved the book for me.

This wasn't as good as the first one, in my opinion. I thought this book was a little plain and boring and there was really only her character throughout the whole book.
I might read it again just because I loved the first one.

25/06/12 - Read the book again. I must say I loved it a lot better than the first book. I really would love to see it made into a movie... but until then, I have the books to hold me over. Although, I probably won't read the books again. Moved the book from 3 stars to 4 stars.

When I first started I was excited to read the book, I had loved the first one after all. It quickly bore me. Until the interdiction of the neighbor who was afraid to go outside, and Perry, the boy who had gone to "boot camp". The story was ok, I like adventure books but I went out on a limb here. My favorite part of the book was when she went into the house to save anyone trapped there. It finally added the 'magic' of Stargirl for me, She is a person who will help anyone. The boy dilemma that happened was frankly, a little annoying because I feel like she could've done more with other things. But this is coming from me, a person who loves fantasy, and adventure books.
