I blew through this while stuck at the airport. It was the perfect story to suck me in and keep me engaged for all 500+ pages. Super trippy and orginal idea. There were a couple points I had to start the page over because I was confused by what was happening, but it’s not incoherent. The world feels real and it’s beautifully written. You care about the characters, it feels like actual humans in the story. Loved it!!

You think you're picking up a regular paranormal haunting/demon possession, but boy are you in for a wild ride that you don't see coming. Wouldn't call this a scary book, but twisted and eerie. (The scene where Eli and Oliver meet in the mines and the shit Eli gets up to? What in the fuck).
