who doesn’t love a grumpy mmc that is really a shy, nice guy? joshua is beyond swoon worthy. the banter was so funny, i was kicking my feet. the book was a little predictable but i enjoyed every second.
Are my cheesy romcom days over? Or is this book not just "it"?🥲
I tried so hard to force myself and finish it but I couldn't ... It doesn't match what its supposed to be, it's supposed to be enemies to lovers but I didn't see the hate, all I saw was some teasing, and it was so clear that Josh has a thing for Lucy.. 🙄
Besides the fact that their feelings were obvious within the first 85 pages whereas the book is +300 pages, I also didn't like the mention of how "small" she is every two lines, and ngl.. it felt more like they were lusting over eachother rather than liking eachother, and I personally don't like relationships that start like that.
Anyways, this is just my personal opinion, if you enjoyed it then Happy for you!🤗

i’m so curious how the movie is now but i don’t want to ruin this book
Reread 2/13/21: still great upon reread, though honestly, not quite as good as I remember, so I bumping it down from a 4.5 to a 4. Still a very swoony read with lots of fun banter!!!

Overall, I’m giving this book 4/5 stars. I thought the ending wrapped up too quickly, there was a bit of internalized fat-phobia, which was very off-putting, and Lucy (the narrator) is soooooo unbearably pretentious in the first chapter I almost completely stopped reading (it gets much better after that).
But overall, I absolutely adored this book! I’m not usually a big romance reader, but this one hit all my buttons!
