The writing was wonderful, the story interesting and captivating, the premise unique. The characters were fleshed out and depthy. I loved them all, but most of all Sammy. Some of it felt a little corny and unbelievable. I struggled to get behind some of the dialogue supposedly spoken by young characters who are around 14/15 years old. It was slow at parts and did feel a bit of a drag to finish, mainly because the overarching storyline is frustratingly close to being resolved so many times, but is just out of reach for nearly 600 pages. All that being said I was captivated and desperate to see how it ended. The ending was going to go one of two ways and I'm glad it took the route it did. I put the book down feeling satisfied and a little warm and fuzzy inside.
