Ehh I felt like this was too short and relationship between Dean and Sloane was rushed.
I did start to lose interest about 50% in but since I got the audiobook book (because Michael Ferraiuolo, no other explanations) I just listened to the book and zoned out a bit…
Overall probably won’t continue with the series but it was cute but I felt like more could happen.

KU.
I really liked this short story, but first. The title. Ugh. It sounds like a bad after school special. If I were just browsing, I would have totally skipped this ~ but it was recommended in a reader's group, so I grabbed it.
I'm really glad I did. GFY is hit or miss for me, but it was done really well here. I loved Dean & Sloane's friendship and how it evolved. For such a short story, this packed in a lot of information and didn't feel rushed. I think the PTS maybe could have been expanded on a little more, but it is a short.
I'll be looking for more from this author & series.

Very quick story that leans into the friends to lovers trope. This was very quick and as a result didn't really have enough meat to get into it before it was over. I do like this trope a lot and so from that perspective I enjoyed it, but I never really got insight into the characters and the love story was super fast. Enjoyed, but was fairly forgettable.

This is my second book by Romeo Alexander and I am quite liking his shirt MM books. They are easy to breeze through in a day and they have just the right amount of steam to accompany the romance.
This one is a gay for you romance about two best friends who end up as more. Not a lot more to it than that, but it is decent for anyone who enjoys quick and light MM's.

Dean and Sloane have been best friends since they met during basic training. Sloane is protective, grumpy, and doesn't let many people close, but he knows everything about Dean. Or he thought he did. Sloane, who overreacted to seeing Dean out on a date makes Dean confess something he's been keeping to himself, which floors Sloane, who has to rethink everything about his life and sexuality. The connection between Sloane and Dean, seeing their insecurities and their strength together, makes you want to know more about them and their relationship.
I liked it, didn't love it.
The main characters were okay. The side characters were cliche and I found myself rolling my eyes a fair bit. The writing for me didn't flow well at all, it was tiring to read.
Glad I read it but wouldn't read again.

Enjoyable book. Love this trope. Included a lot of personal favorite themes. Nothing that stood out in particular though. Maybe finding a deeper connection to the characters would lead to a more meaningful and memorable read.
