I loved this look into 15th century China through the window of Tan Yunxian's life. Definitely one of my favorite historical fiction's I've read!

This book captivated my attention more than any other over the past few years. The talk of foot binding made me really uncomfortable at the start, along with the general view of women during the era it's based in, but Lisa See did an amazing job of still giving power and intrigue to the dialog of Yunxian. I really enjoyed this read and will be seeking out more of Lisa's books.
