I’m so excited – I have a new favorite series!!! Special Agents Zane and Ty are tons of fun. At first I thought it would be sort of an “odd couple” storyline. Ty’s first impression of Zane was that he was a buttoned up “poster boy candy ass brown noser” and Zane’s first impression of Ty was that he was a rude, insufferable egotistical SOB who was not even remotely professional. But as things turn out they are both wonderfully flawed but lovable characters. When they get partnered up on a murder case the sparks of hatred and then attraction fly. And it turns out they are both gloriously completely fucked up and much more alike than they are different.

I really enjoyed their relationship and the dialogue; although the relationship did get equal billing with the murder mystery. There were definitely some plot points that skirted the lines of plausibility but I loved Ty and Zane so much I didn’t care. Assistant Director of the FBI Burns is an interesting character – it’s almost like he knows the boys will be good for each other in the long run and is playing matchmaker.

The Cut & Run series has everything: humor, action, engaging characters and romance. I’m hooked.

This is hands down my favorite m/m series. LOVE Ty and Zane so much. Their banter is so well done and their character development throughout this story is slowly built and developed in a realistic manner. Truly enjoyed this. Cannot wait for the next book!

I loved this book. Before I get into why, I have to say this:

I FUCKIN' KNEW IT!!!!!!!
Spoiler Henninger...
Wow, half the book I spend wondering is it him? It's gotta be... But, what about
Spoilerhis partner
, that was suspicious. What if it's someone else (I had doubts throughout with my theory) but still... When it was revealed I was like AH HA! Felt good to be right, and I loved how to the latest moments it was still guess work.

SpoilerEdgar Allen Poe? We did the "Tell-tale heart" in high school and kept on wondering when it'd pop up... When it did. I just... I can't. The guy is seriously messed up.

Zane & Ty:

Loved them <3 <3 <3
Ty with his t-shirts (hilarious)
Zane's character (outward) taking a 180° turn
How they got together (still can't admit to their obvious feelings) but there are 6 more books and I'm really looking forward to how this relationship will develop.

What kept this book going was definitely the murder mystery, it kept the developing romance together, gave it purpose and room to be explored... Aaah I'm looking forward to eventually reading all of these books. Oh, but if I had to choose (I loved Ty & Zane together MUCH MUCH MORE) - You cannot help but fall for them, and there are 6 MORE BOOKS

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to be pulled into the story.

This was awesome, tough, hard-edged, and tightly written. All throughout, I tried to figure who-done-it, testing the possibilities, and still was stymied in the end. The complicated, wounded heroes are persuasive, sympathetic, and three dimensional. The plot was convoluted and compelling. No fluff in sight. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I flew through this book. The mystery kept me guessing and I fell in love with the ever flawed Ty and Zane. The only distracting issue was the headhopping, but it didn’t take away from the story.

"we can still cut and run," he whispered...

2016 was the year of realizing things and 2017 is the year of getting WREKT by books with absolutely horrible covers (#graphicdesignismypassion @foxholecourt).

Seriously. This book was a real trip. It follows 2 FBI agents and their investigation of a serial killer on the prowl. But if we're being honest that's not at all what this book is about.

It's about two fucked-in-the-head men who are absolutely perfect for each other but don't know how to deal with their ~feelings~. I'm not kidding, if you're reading the actual description of this book and thinking "oh wow! this is going to be super engaging and mysterious," you're going to absolutely hate this book.

This book is character driven to the extreme and the plot is really just a backdrop for the "romance" (you'll get the quotes if you actually read this). But the characterization and complication of the characters in this book is superb and really reminds me of Nora Sakavic's series in that way. No frills, with the bulk of the action existing in the heads of the lovely Grady & Garrett.

My only serious complaint was how disjointed this damn ebook was. I had a really hard time keeping track of who was speaking and whose perspective was happening at what point. But having started the second book I can say that all is good. Or as good as things can be reading about these two crazy gay jack asses *sigh*. Leave me to my new obsession.

Reread via audio #3

There's nothing more to say about this series. I wish I had reviewed it back when I first read it because it the fresh thoughts would have been more poignant for sure.

However I will say:
- One of my favorite MM romance series
- One of my favorite MM Couple of all time.
- LOVED how imperfect these men are.
- LOVED their relationship progression. There is attraction and a spark, but no insta-love to be seen. THANK THE LORD.
- Steam is FREAKING HOT.

why the 4 stars?
- The time away from each other.
- Sleeping with other people while they were not together... This is a pet peeve of mine.
- The serial killer was fairly obvious.

Why do people like this series? I got halfway through this book before I couldn't bear to read another page.

The writing is so very bad and Ty/Zane are such an obnoxious couple. Why does Zane have to be such a loser? I really don't like pairings where one is always making the other look stupid because he's ~so much better~ and that's exactly what happens here. On like every page. Zane does something stupid or ignorant or unthinking and looks like a complete idiot while Ty always looks ~cool~ and ~suave~ and *yawn*.

This book needed an editor who would've trimmed the fuck out of all of the stupid, redundant, adverby actions; the whiplashy POV changes; the beige characters; and the unnecessarily verbose dialogue tags.
