As good as everyone says it is. Really.

I really enjoyed reading this beautiful book, that functions as much as a piece of art as it does a piece of literature. Handler's story is compelling, and it's truly elevated by Kalman's exquisite illustrations. Does it feel a bit angsty at times? Yes, it certainly does. But that angsty-ness feels so true to the high school breakup letter the story is telling that it didn't really bother me. Full review available on Slatebreakers at http://wp.me/p1DtDT-fD

Oh man. Encompassing young love, how I forgot about you.

i started this book because it’s one of my best friend’s favourites and even though it took me ages to read i loved it. the art in it was so cool and the formatting of each item as a chapter and the whole book as a letter was so so lovely. it described how a relationship starts and ends and everything between in such a real way. loved it. al and min’s friendship is so dear to me as well. <3

So totally amazing. Makes you wonder if Daniel Handler is just as much of pseudonym as Lemony Snicket and really there is this eloquent film-savant teenaged girl somewhere writing everything for him with this terrible, beautiful sincerity. And I want a different T-shirt emblazoned with every illustration by Maira Kalman for this book, they are so beautiful and perfect. (Except maybe the condom wrapper one, but you could wear it as a night shirt.) I really couldn't improve on this book in any way.

Beautifully simple but written with so much care and delicacy. This is one of the most tasteful YA contemporaries I've ever read. It packs a punch, but it's extremely graceful. I never tired of Daniel Handler's voice and the voice he gave Min. This novel is perfectly paced and exceeded my already high expectations.

I saw so much of myself in this novel and could not put it down. I swear, part of me was in this story. I can't be the only one who felt a strange validation through this book, and I will definitely recommend it to others. This was an easy five star for me. Hands down.

This is the only book that has ever made me feel like: "I don't wanna date anyone never again".

I need to read the actual book to see the art!

i need to read some happy books after this

This book hit too close to home and I read this because Daniel Handler/Lemony Snicket is one of my favorite writers.
This book reminded me of 13 Reasons Why, in the sense it has a girl who explains to a boy why she had to break up with him. Slowly she reveals by each chapter a different clue that convinces the boy and the reader.
A good book, but I think 13 Reasons Why told this kind of story more effectively.
