I think I understand Min.
I think Handler's vision for the novel did reach a sensible and believable climax.
I think some of the details had an edge of imbelievability and that the writing would get a bit ahead of itself, sacrificing perfect clarity for artistry.
I can respect that. I respect the whole project, the idea and these characters specifically.
Min was a girl who just happened to fall in love with the wrong boy, when she could have had a prince. She had a heart to love and she had the imagination. She was interesting, complex and I can see everything Ed saw in her. Even if she did curse so often and so senselessly that I seriously desired to wash her mouth out with literary soap!

After struggling through this book, I have to say I was satisfied with the ending. I don't want to give any spoilers but if you've started WWBU, finish it. In a weird way, the ending provided the closer that I needed.
Overall, It is a very beautiful book with illustrations and interesting vocabulary.
I'm not sure if I'd recommend it, but I also wouldn't tell anyone not to read it.
I think this is a book that some people hate and others love. It's very much a personal preference type of story.

Well, it's safe to say that when I bought this book, I never saw ANYTHING coming. Opening the cover, I never expected to have PICTURES there (though "Illustrated by Maira Kalman" was a big spoiler that didn't register in my head). And I never expected Ed to *gasp* [cheat on her! I mean, I thought of loads of things on why they actually broke up, but Ed was sweet the entire book!] Then BAM. :(
It makes me sad. Sigh.

I felt this book was trying to be a less intense, not as serious, girl version of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and failed. While I was initially intrigued, I quickly found it hard to follow and found myself often losing interest in the plot. It did give me many a flashback to my high school years and I could closely relate to the first love craziness and then complete and utter heartbreak, but that still didn't change my overall opinion of the book. Maybe were I back in high school, I would feel differently. If you feel like reminiscing your high school loves, read on, my friends. But if you're looking for interesting and intriguing good read, keep searching.

This was a complicated combinations of things I liked and did not like. The prevalent positive I have for this book is the writing style, which is an interesting way of first person narration and handled the exposition and commenting at a good balance. What ruined it was the repetition of lines and general overdramatisation of everything. Of course, it has other downsides to it, but that is for later!
It was hard, on my part, to try relating to her feelings all the time (as she is the sole person we view things from), because while I understand being a teenager and its various hardships, she honestly made herself look like a special, little snowflake; a term I do not easily or usually use. The book really wanted to show us how this is a typical, stereotyped high school with the jocks, cheerleaders, popular people and the lesser kind, in which of course Min belongs to and she never misses a beat commenting how she and her friends do things differently and, of course, how she could never be with a popular, athletic guy. Not mentioning the fact that she has to express her thoughts with scenes from osbscure movies ALL. THE. TIME. Or indirectly dissing the actions of the people outside her "group", as if their taste is top notch and everyone else just sucks for not even knowing what she could be talking about. I get having a passion for your hobby, but then there is just pretentious and she was absolutely that.
The other unfortunate part of the book is that the creative writing is that it basically covers a really cliche story and it just makes you wonder if it will escape the mold, but it honestly does not. We know, of course, that they break up, but I wanted to see something that worked better and held more surprises along the way, but it unfortunately did the one predictable thing after the other, like I was watching a Hollywood teen movie. The worst thing in the story progression was
I already mentioned that the writing style was of interest to me, but the second thing I liked was the usage of pictures throughout the letter and every item was linked to the story, though it did make me wonder how it would work practically since she started each part of the letter without actually referring to the items explicitly, but vaguely such as "This is from the time...etc." and in the end she kept something that he did not know existed, so would he know? Either way, still an interesting concept and offers more relatability to those things at least.
I guess, in the end, I just found it ok. I read it pretty fast, because it was easy (apart from some descriptions that took ages to be done and NUMEROUS pretentious movie scenes that tried to sound fancy), but I was not really that satisfied.

the fact that her best friend was in love with her since forever. Why can we never have a friendship between a boy and a girl that is just that, a friendship?I already mentioned that the writing style was of interest to me, but the second thing I liked was the usage of pictures throughout the letter and every item was linked to the story, though it did make me wonder how it would work practically since she started each part of the letter without actually referring to the items explicitly, but vaguely such as "This is from the time...etc." and in the end she kept something that he did not know existed, so would he know?
