Too absurd for my taste. The only thing it managed to do is making me incredibly angry.

I listened to this as an audiobook on Audible and I’ve read the physical copy as well. I’ve enjoyed both. Being these books are meant for kids, I don’t have the highest of expectations. But I enjoy the story line and the dialect a lot.

Getting a little repetitive
I think this one was my favorite so far in the series. The one character charmelita bothered me and got under my skin badly but Snicket did an amazing job having a villainous kid part of the casting in this series so far.

I completely forgot all about the Quagmire triplets! I'm enjoying rereading this series after forgetting so many of the details. Also I'm so glad that they finally mentioned the VFD.

My least favorite so far in the series but i’m interested in where it’s going! I don’t think I ever read past this book when i was reading them for the first time.

Moderately better than 'the miserable mill'. I really enjoyed the Quagmire triplets and Carmelita Spats, although I do hope her character gets explored further in future books.
Whilst this book continued to be repetitive, I enjoyed the ending which alludes to more interesting plot points. I'm excited to continue the series and see whether it becomes more interesting!
