Okay, so, this book was lacking quite a bit more than even the last crazy romp. The killer was actually quite interesting, but dearly departed Dexter (or so it would seem) seemed to have mentally regressed. But not just Dexter; the plot has regressed as well. It's almost as though the author has been reading Paul Auster in the mean time and trying to somehow feed Auster's insane ambiguity into his own novels!

Anyway, I don't think that I'll read the next in the series. I could write a better serial killer than this anyday (although mine would probably use less alliteration).

Started out really good. Love the way the author really gets you into Dexter's mind and he is such and interesting character. But in the end it just kept falling apart and left me dissatisfied. I want to read Dexter the clever, skilled serial killer. In this book Dexter only kills once in passion not planned. And so much time is spent illustrating that Dex can't think like a normal person that it doesn't seem right considering how skilled he is at blending in as a normal person why wouldn't he know how to act?

Art can be a thing of self-expression, beautiful...if used in the right circumstances. The newest serial killer to hit the streets might be taking his art too far. His medium? Corpses. He lives off the shock and horror of those unfortunate enough to stumble across his "exhibits" and now Dexter must hunt him down in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Why? The artist is smart.

He knows the truth, and he wants to make sure everyone else does too.

finally finished another book! only took me forever. trying to kill this slump.

overall, I enjoy the dexter novels. this one wasn't amazing, but it wasn't terrible. prolly gonna start the 5th one soon.

still a little turned off by this weird supernatural thing that may or may not actually exist, but it's a lot less prevalent in this one than the last. so at least there's that.
