there's only one story worth reading in this collection (Rabbit Heart) and it's the one with no men, but not in a good way. why? because:

1. if you have unresolved daddy issues, you might enjoy more of these since all the Korean men are depicted as emotionally distant, cheaters, or absent fathers (or a combo of the above)
2. if I had a nickel for every WMAF couple in this book id have at least 6 nickles. which isn't a lot, but really weird that it happens that many times in a book with maybe 8-9 relational stories

I expected so much more from this book, and all I can really say about it is shrug. super weird that the angry cheating korean immigrant father trope and white men asian women trope both showed up so frequently despite the many opportunities for better stories. disappointing that none of the stories provide much reflection or say anything of substance. I felt like I was enduring someone's barely subconscious unresolved traumas in real time, which I really don't care for.
