Thanks go out to my mom for recommending this book to me when I mentioned to her that I was looking for a story with a clean romance. This book has the swooniest romance I have ever read! The love interest is the epitome of the perfect man. He is chivalrous and a true gentleman.
I didn’t know hardly anything about Ree Drummond, a.k.a. the Pioneer Woman, before reading this book, other than that she writes cookbooks. I have never read her cookbooks or her magazine or her blog, nor have I seen her show, yet I still loved learning all about the love story of how she met and dated and then married her husband. It was seriously the cutest romance ever. And because it wasn’t fiction, there was no third-act breakup scene! Thank goodness.
This book was so wholesome and made me feel happy and giddy. I listened to the audiobook, read by Ree herself, and it was so delightful. The book reads more like someone telling you their own story rather than reading like a novel—which makes sense because that’s what it is. I’ve seen some critical reviews that say the writing style seems immature, but I didn’t feel that way and it didn’t bother me in the least. Mrs. Drummond isn’t a novelist; she’s telling her own story. I thought the way she captured her emotions and expressed her humor was perfect for this book.
Overall, I had a splendid time reading this book. I never would have read it had my mom not recommended it to me, but I am so happy I did. If you, too, are looking for a clean romance story, I definitely will also recommend this book to you, and don’t let the fact that it’s nonfiction or about a person you may not know scare you away from it. All romance lovers should read this book.

A sweet and endearing story from Ree that had me both laughing and tearing up with her. It was quick and easy to read, just what I was looking for.
Meh. I love her blog but I did not like this book very much. She is so vain! Needing to be the hot pregnant wife? Not eating to be "skinny" for pregnancy doctor visits??She thinks MM doesn't know she farts, sweats or has a digestive system? Unfortunately, this book made me lose respect for her as a person.
My only complaint about this book was that it ended too soon! I loved reading Ree and Marlboro Man's love story. I can't count how many times I screenshot a piece to share with my husband because it remind me of us. It was a lovely story, and written perfectly.
While I was somewhat attracted because of its local origin, and Drummond has a pleasant and unique voice as a writer, this book is a little too feathery for me.
I'm not sure how I came across the Pioneer Woman in the 1st place but I'd like to thank whoever turned me onto her. This story about she fell in love with a cowboy and changed her life appealed to my sense of romance. There are times when the love story made me tear up actually. I've followed Ree Drummond's twitter feed for a while and now I think I'll start reading her blog.
Well a lot of people hated this book, but I loved it. I’m not married to a cowboy...my cowboy is a banker. But the whole story reminds me of why I fell for my banker in the first place, how quickly it all happened, and why my Dad was so right...when you meet a man who wants to be with you, he will make it very clear. It was true for me and I didn’t understand it until it happened.
I’ve been a big fan of Pioneer Woman since long before she became commercially famous; I’m happy for her that her life on the ranch became so big, and she still seems so happy.

DNF. I made it almost to the halfway point. I found more to like about this book than I thought I would after reading the first chapter, but in the end, I gave up on it because I found it so hard to relate to the author.
