It made me laugh, it made me cry. It made me relive my own courtship, early marriage, pregnancy and birth of my child. Ree has a way with words that makes you feel like you're reading a conversation. A definitely enjoyable read perfect for the month of romance!

Super Cute!

.

I loved reading about how Ree and The Marlboro Man met and fell in love! Her stories were funny and entertaining. I wish everyone could meet a loving cowboy and live happily ever after.

I read Ree's blog for quite awhile, so was interested to read her memoir about meeting her cowboy husband. It was entertaining and a quick read, but lacked any real substance.

It was a great story...but the first 70% of the book felt like a bunch of blog posts pasted together... a lot of repeated information/imagery that would make sense to repeat in blog format but downright unforgivable in a book.

I’ve always enjoyed Ree’s cooking show, and this book gives us a look at her life before that. I do not understand all the negative reviews. This book made me laugh out loud and shed a few tears. If you’re a fan of Ree I think you’ll enjoy this book.

wow. This book should have been about half as long as it was. I felt like the author went off on WAY too many tangents. Every thought she had there was a two or three page tangent....a bit excessive. Then referring to the guy as the Marlboro Man through THE WHOLE BOOK!!! Come on! At first I thought she didn't know his name but after they dated for months and she still called him the MM it was so lame. Not cute. Not funny. LAME!!! I really liked MM (see I can't even type the name I'm so tired of it!) he was a great character. I think if the book was about half as long as it was it would have gotten 5 stars! OH AND there were like two actual conversations in the whole book. I like to read conversations. I like to read the funny banter back and forth or the getting to know you. I don't like reading "we talked for hours" multiple times. You really can't get to know the characters. blah. I wasted my day reading this book and I didn't even finish it! Maybe after I've had a rest from the tangents I can finish it. But nope, have no desire to even read to the end it was that bad.

Ok so I didn't like this at all. I love her blog but found this to be just so self absorbed that I couldn't finish it.

I grabbed this as I was closing up the library before the 4th of July holiday, assuming it might make a nice beach read. I was right. I wasn't made aware of the Pioneer Woman until a few years ago when one of her cookbooks came out and I was working in Provo, UT. Sucker flew off the shelves! And the other night it was just sticking out of the biography shelves begging to be read. It's a pretty adorable rom-com kind of story, nothing too edge-of-your-seat. But dang, that Miss Ree is SMITTEN. It's so cute! I needed to read something so squishy and fluffy. I mean, I'm not heading out to Oklahoma to bag me a Marlboro Man cowboy, but it's certainly fun to read about anyway.
