DID NOT FINISH: 30%

The only reason I stopped this was because it is so different from the vibe of the first 3 books. I'm not saying it's bad but I feel like maybe I would of finished it, if I read it first.
Will definitely try it again.

This made me annoyed because Hannibal's whole thing the first two books was that he was just evil with no explanation. He literally said "nothing happened to me, I happened." But a lot of shit happened to him in this that would make most anyone traumatized, if not a little evil.

I have loved this series very much. This story *could have been* good. The whole time I was reading it though, I kept feeling like the same passion to tell the story wasn’t behind it. Even during parts I found interesting, it felt like a chore. Well, did a little background checking to find that Harris was encouraged to write this because he was told if he didn’t get on Hannibal’s origin story somebody else would first.

Unpopular opinion, but this is my favorite entry in the series. I enjoy seeing how “neurodivergent/psychotic” characters were influenced to become who they are.

The Internet didn't need to confirm to me that Thomas Harris wrote this book just so they could film the movie and he could keep the rights over his character because the novel already feels like the blandest kind of predecessor to every 2010's book written just because an author really REALLY needed WB to give them that DELICIOUS movie right money.
Blandly written, out of character and deeply slow, I can't be thankful enough that most of the Hannibal lore we got here got ignored and perfected in the 2013 show, thanks again for my life, Bryan Fuller.

Es bueno, pero no me encantó. Termina las historias sin ser particularmente interesante, pero cierra bien lo que a uno lo faltaba por conocer.

The best of the four.
