This is SUCH a cool Avatar-ish concept of elemental magic with a prophecy (oh no, the earth-bender is missing). I really wished we got more development of Soren (water guy). Penn (fire guy)'s motivations for his behavior did not always feel logical, so I didn't feel like he was fully 3D as a character to me. Rhya (air girl) was a bit too flighty to make a strong female protagonist; sometimes she felt like a side character running over to cool off with her friends and get new dresses. I really wanted her to learn how to use her power, or have more consequences FOR not learning how, but instead she can just magically use it when she needs to and that's it. If the quest for the earth person goes the way I think it will, later additions to this series have the potential to surpass this one in scope and enjoyment level for me.

This reads like a fanfiction plot, but I don't have a clue who these people are so I don't gaf.

I loooove the elemental magic here. So interesting and unique (to me) and I wanted so much more of it! the writing itself I enjoyed and the world I found really interesting, but these damn characters.. what even? the FMC I liked at first, but the absolute ignorance and straight up stupidity at times gets annoying very quickly. Then we have the MMC.. he's just a walking red flag in almost every way. Insanely controlling, incredibly rude, and with-holding ALL information from her, but then shocked Pikachu face when she doesn't like or trust him?! I swear the FMC and Soren had more chemistry in their two interactions and I'm mad he wasn't in the story more.
I really enjoyed the side characters I will say. They were all incredible, even the mean ones.
I was ready to give this 2-2.5stars, but weirdly enough, even after what I've said, I've found myself thinking about this book on multiple occasions. Wishing there was more... Here's to hoping the next one is better character interactions.
Also, it's too long. Too damn long for a plot that has no real plot.

This fantasy book does nothing that has not been done before. I bought it because the cover was beautiful. I did enjoy the world. She kind of touched on the magic system a bit, I am hoping there will be more in the next book. What I really did like was 1) the horse, he was cool. and 2) the friendships, they were supportive and kind and had a lot of fun back and forth. I also liked that although Rhya, the MFC was not a fighter, she did have some skills and she was brave, and did not just cower down. I am looking forward to book 2 I hope we get more of the magic and how it works and more of King Soren.

I did not enjoy this book as much as I had thought I would. The storyline didn't feel very original and some things were very predictable. The fact that she is a Wind Weaver is in this book secondary to her relationship issues.

I do have to say that I absolutely loved the side characters. They had me laughing out loud a few times and some of them stole a tiny piece of my heart. Rhya and Penn on the other hand, they annoyed me so much.
Especially Penn, who kept switching his personality from "I'm a distant grumpy guy who dislikes you" to "I can't live without you". I don't mind that at the start of the book, but it just kept going. There was almost no character development. I was just reading and thinking, please, just make up your mind and stop being a d*ck to Rhya!

Last but not least, the last 40 pages of the book felt a bit like it came out of nowhere and then ended way too quickly. It was anticlimactic and I was honestly disappointed. Finally something big started to happen, and then it ended too soon.

All in all, this book was kind of entertaining and disappointing at the same time. I'm not sure if I'll give the next book in this series a shot.
