I had such a fun time with this! I've always loved elemental magic and there's not many books featuring it anymore so this was great. I loved all the characters, especially Rhya! The found family vibes were so so good too.
The pacing was pretty slow but I quite liked it because it meant there was a huge focus on the characters and world building. Things picked up towards the end and I flew through the last 100 pages.

Everything I could want in a romantasy. Slow burn (& I mean very slow), elemental magic, fantastical creatures, a prophecy, soul ties. Maybe a love triangle??
I loved our main character and our main mmc. The tension and yearning was so good. He's so broody and she's so witty. The side characters were really well developed. 500 pages and it felt like sooo much happened. I can't wait for the 2nd book.

This book was boring for me for awhile and finally starting picking up. I really liked the end and I think the next book will be really good so it was worth the read. I think this series has a lot of potential.

Just cannot get into this book. I cannot see how the two main characters could at all come back from this beginning. I don’t love the normalization of captor did something nice for me by giving me socks. I feel like I can predict where this is going and am just not interested.
