The Wind Weaver sucked me in from the start! This book starts off really strong as the FMC is in danger after being captured by the kings’ men. They don’t like halflings and will kill them immediately. But right before she’s set to burn, she’s rescued. But not by someone who means to save her. He rescues her from THAT certain death only to thrust her into other enemy territories. And thus begins an epic adventure!
Readers should know that this is a SLOW BURN. I think it will set up the rest of the series nicely sort of like ACOTAR did. The entire idea surrounding the novel is original and I’m excited to see it grow more as the series progresses. One of my main complaints though is that the book is a bit long and dragged without adding much to the plot. I feel like some things could be cut out and more focus could be on the magic system and characters relationships. I also missed the addition of secondary characters which don’t show up until a few hundred pages.
Regardless of my few small issues I think this is a solid debut and I’m excited to see where the author takes us next in the series.

This book was a interesting idea that got lost in the execution. It's hinting that it's a why choose romantasy that will eventually end up with a tetrad, which is cool, but the book itself was just....meh. The only way I know to describe is hollow. I had almost no emotional investment in any of the characters in this book. They weren't caricatures, but they didn't really seem to have a lot of depth, either. I do appreciate that the FMC is pretty outspoken and does stand up for herself, but like all the other characters in this book, she was just bland. Reading this book was like eating a perfectly cooked piece of chicken that had no seasoning on it whatsoever.

for fans of acotar, kindred’s curse saga & the ashen series. this has insatiable enemies to lovers tension, witty banter, fast pacing, an intriguing magic system, and the slowwwest burn. rhya might not be for everyone, but i personally love that she has no filter. i’m not sure if it was the authors intention, but i read her humor as super dry, and i found her to be hilarious 🤣 and the way the mmc FIGHTS his feelings for her was so adorable tbh. the found family is already strong, but has the potential to be even stronger in the next book. i loved carys and soren so much 🥰
i really enjoyed learning about the bond between the elementals. it was also so satisfying to get a lot of answers in this first book. i do hope there is more of a female presence in the next book. i also had a small frustration with a conflict near the end, but i have high hopes for what could come from it in the next book! overall loved this so much 🤍
