First of all, let me say that I am being generous with the 2-star rating. You know how you've read reviews about Carlotta and Wesley being "too stupid to live"... They are. Abashedly so. Seriously --how many times is this woman going to butt her way into investigations before Jack arrests her? Seriously --he should have already!

Basically the premise of this book is that this socialite with checkered morale (very ala Paris Hilton, in my opinion) dies of a supposed asthma attack. Coop gets the call to go pick up the body --and turns out that someone else is trying to steal the body for only god knows what purposes.

Honestly, if Carlotta stepped out of the picture here, and Jack Terry did some REAL detective work and if Coop got in on the action more...I think this series could be tolerable. Peter is a useless schmuck who is only kept around for his money. Wesley is a stupid punk who needs a good swift kick in the rear.

A few people have mentioned the "steamy scene". Well...rest assured: there is only one, which hardly warrants the title phrase: "A sexy mystery". Nothing about
Spoiler Wesley having sex with Liz, who is not only his FATHER'S ex-lover, but also an apparent CURRENT lover to Jack Terry, is sexy. Its GROSS!! I don't know what the heck kind of childhood issues Stephanie Bond has, but she obviously needs some therapy.
That being said, the steamy scene isn't even written well, and is rather blah... You can skip it and you aren't missing out anything.

...In fact, if you're like me and have a book list a mile long --anything on that list is better than this. You're not missing out on a -thing-. I thought I would be able to stick through the full series, but no --this is the end of the line. I can't handle any more stupid in my life.

I am really enjoying this series. The mystery is always good and the characters are fun. I can't wait to read the fourth book!

Such a cute story that keeps you entertained and laughing the entire time. A perfect read for something light that you just get entangled in!

She’s one of the worst people I’ve ever read... why can’t I stop reading these books?? I honestly HATE Carlotta or however you spell her real name. She’s stringing alone men for her fathers sake.

Another crazy chapter in Carlotta's life. She has a lot of thinking to do. Lots of trouble for Wesley. How does he get into all this stuff? No good.

Another one down.

And I’m starting to hate all of them. Carlotta for some of her really dumb choice. Wes for pretty much everything he does. Peter for being so stupid and putting Carlotta at such a weird place. Detective Terry is just kind of gross for leading her on and being a jerk but at least he rescues her? And Cooper…for not demanding that she be better. He’s pretty much the only one left I like!

Carlotta’s off work still healing from her incident at the end of 2 Bodies for the Price of 1. Coop invites her to join him on a trip to pick up a VIP body, and she agrees to go since on the way is a stop where her dad’s finger prints were just found. Then the VIP body has some mystery surrounding it – what was the cause of her death?

Ugh. I hate all of them and all their poor decisions and how dumb they all are. 6.5 of 10 overall and 4.5 of 5 readability. Off to read the next one because it’s sort of like a bad train wreck of drama that I just can’t look away from…
