what in the world did i just read? there were points when i loved it but also JAVIER DID SOME VERY BAD, VERY QUESTIONABLE VERY VERY FUCKWED UP THINGS. WHY DID HE DO THATT?!?!?! WHAT THE FUCK WAS HE THINKING!?!?!? unforgivable.
Thank God for ki sleep free trials as I would be really upset with myself if I paid to read this. I did my best to finish but this book was just not for me.
Isabella is kidnapped,tortured and raped by Javier so much that she comes to crave his touch and want to be with him even though he is her captor and using her to pay for the sins of her father even though he was like a father to him.
Javier being tortured by his mom does not make up for the fact that he tortures us.
I skipped all the sec scenes because they grossed me out as they were essentially rape. And once we got the the blood.play I was done.

Holy shit. That was so intense. OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! Zavarelli has a way of making you love the monster. Of making you understand and accept all the bad, immoral and irrepressible acts. This is some seriously effed up twist of Beauty and the Beast....definitely not the Disney version. The warning Zavarelli gives you at the beginning is warning enough that this book is going to trigger every thing imaginable...and you are going to gobble up those words as if your next breath dependent on it.
I'm still reeling from that rollercoaster ride. Bella and Javi were...intense. Javi, a man with unbelievable capabilities and a brain to match implements his plan for revenge. And to get it, he uses the daughter of the man he is trying to hurt, Bella. The things that happened in that house....sweet baby Jesus and all the angels above. I read over scenes. Went back again and again. And was still flabbergasted that Zavarelli put pen to paper and wrote those things. Dark and twisted. Evil and gut wrenching. And beautifully written.

Go on and read this book to see human strength and perseverance. It's awe-inspiring and terrifying what one can endure.

Javi Castillo is "Beast". He covers himself up so no one can see his scars and what he hides. When he takes Isabelle he is bent on exacting his revenge on her father for what he did to him. He counted on being able to break her but he didn't count on her breaking him.
This book is another absolutely amazing dark read from this author! There are many dark parts to this book but through the dark we were able to see some light.
Isabelle is such an interesting character as she has different sides to her and through the book we go through her struggles with her. The pain she goes through we feel as a reader and we want her to escape the pain or find a way to get stronger because of it. I can't believe how much she put up with and my heart was breaking so many times through the book.
Javi went through his own version of hell which he gradually learned about and the extent of what he went through we never really understood until the end. He was played by everyone and was so destroyed inside because of the level of deceit. I went from hating him to wanting him to succeed.
The chemistry between the two was evident and you began to understand the complex nature of their relationship as the book progressed. You wanted them to succeed despite everything going on against them but you had no idea how many twists and turns were coming that threw everything you thought you knew into a complete tailspin.
I never saw some of the twists coming at all and I was so mad at various characters at certain times and I can't reveal anything!!
I was glad Isabelle was able to keep what she could at the end!!
