This is the best one yet! The passion between Alexi and Kiera is so intense, it practically set my Kindle aflame. And the story was exciting and full of action. I particularly love how strong Kiera is and how much Alexi treasures her for her strength.

Copy/paste from my book 1 review : I was so pleasantly surprised by this find. I often think that most sci fi erotica novels have to be somewhat lame but this universe was interesting, detailed, the characters were endearing. This has some serious macho vibes but you know what, it kinda worked. So yes, be warned, the way this universe treats its female characters is appaling, the way the heroes often treat the heroine is somewhat appaling, this has dubious consent all over and the dirty mouth is almost too much at time BUT it still works.

Update on Audio Version below...

Oh Alexi Skolov, you were broken as much as you were lovable.

On this third installment of Ruthless Warlords, which follows the Skolov Family in their quest to find their siblings that were stolen from them while they were babies, we learn about Alexi and the beast that he has been working so hard at controlling. Since the attack on his family, he has been trying to contain himself and the monster lurking inside of him. When they find a viable lead to their siblings, Alexi volunteers himself to broker the deal with a competing family to get more of the information that he needed and find his baby siblings. Through this process, he meets Keira, who is an Omega and has the uncanny ability to calm him.

This book had a lot of hot Omegaverse scenes that will melt pages. But what I really liked about this book was their quest to find Mikhail. It was full of twists and has a satisfying end to it. I cannot wait for Damian's book.

I had the pleasure of listening to the audio version of this book and oh my goodness, Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter will just about literally make you melt. Jason's growl is just absolutely perfect as an Omega alpha and Stella's take no prisoners approach to this story is such a delight for the ears.

I'd wanted to read this for ages & finally did!! I'm so happy

Note to self… do not start a new Alison Aimes book at 8 pm on a work night thinking, “I will only read a few chapters…” Yeah, that did not happen…Once I started reading this book, I became so engrossed by the plot, twists, and turns that I stayed up all night reading!

This book was AH-MAZING!

Alexi was so much more than I imagined. His backstory was tragic and what he suffered at 13 yrs old… horrendous. However, getting inside his head was almost worse, the self-loathing/deprecation and fear could almost be felt through the pages. Despite the horrors he endured, he remained a good man... In beast mode, he may unalive a lot of people, but he remained a protector…deeply devoted to his family, and then Keira. He's also sexy and determined to keep his omega satisfied if you know what I mean (wink wink). PLEASE! YES!

Keira's past is equally heartbreaking, and the fact that she puts that aside...puts all the cruelty she lives with aside, to safeguard those who are unable to protect themselves... I adored her character. Not only is she strong…she is the perfect match for Alexi and his beast.

Broken Heir was an exciting, steamy, action-packed story full of betrayal, deception, and jaw-dropping twists and turns. The end had me losing my mind! And the character growth, even with the Alpha / Omega dynamic, Alexi and Keira matured romantically throughout the story, and in the end, their relationship was more than just pheromones; it was a true bonding! SWOON!

If you are looking for a magnificent sci-fi omegaverse mafia, with plenty of steam, unaliving, and a gripping storyline… THIS IS YOUR BOOK! Actually, THIS IS YOUR SERIES!

My only regret… I read Broken Heir too quickly and now that it is over… I want… no need…more! This book/series gets all my recommendations and is a MUST READ romance in my opinion!

Another great installment in the series. I was very intrigued by Alexi and his history. He definitely had many layers that we got to peel back.

I don't think I can say we really explored what happened to him when he was younger in the best way. I understand it was very dark and triggering content and I am fine with not going too great into detail with those flashbacks. I was able to understand plenty with what the author revealed in her chosen story telling. I do think the aspect of him being injected with an unknown serum that forever changed him deserved a little more insight and exploration tbh. This "bezerkereth" beast that resides within him now left alot to be desired as far as understanding it, where it originally came from as it was often referred to being a part of the Alphas past. Sort of how cavemen evolved to civilized men for humans, I guess. I understood it without any problems but I feel like there was still so so much left unsaid or unasked. It was a fascinating part of what made Alexi who he was and how he became the man/Alpha he was in this book. So, I'll admit I was a little disappointed on that front.

I did like Alexi. All of these brothers have been through some hell of their own and Alexi's was definitely horrific. I just wanted to hug him so many times for his doomsday thoughts and feeling as if he was living on borrowed time. Never trusting himself not to harm his own family let alone strangers. But he wanted to live, he deserved to be happy. And I'm glad he didn't give up.

Keira was pretty kick ass. I HATED what she had to endure at the hand of her disgusting power drunk uncle. She was incredibly brave to work against the machinations of her uncle and father. She refused to let the treatment of the omegas continue once she found out. I had so much admiration for her. She could have easily pretended not to have learned that the omegas were being sold and it would have been safer. But she didn't. She had an inner strength that she didn't even realize herself. Much of what she did was because it was simply the RIGHT thing to do but also for her younger sister Cila. I didn't care for her sister tbh. I thought she was ungrateful. And yes, some of her behavior could be excused by her age and fear but still. I didn't like how she treated Keira when everything blew up.

I thought the transition from one night stand, to you betrayed me, to them falling in love was surprisingly well paced. I sorta of lost the timeframe on how much time passed from their first night together and such but I still enjoyed the gradual growth in feelings especially for Keira

I especially loved how Alexi showed Keira in words and in actions just how much he cared for her. Opening her eyes to what an Alpha should be and how an omega should be cherished. He showed her how much she was worth and how worthy she was to stand by his side and demand the respect she deserved. I loved that Keira was always surprised by his actions. I particularly loved the growth of both characters. I loved how Keira believed in Alexi and refused to give up on him. She saw more than his beast and he saw more than a "worthless giftless barren" omega as Keira was told all the time. They were truly perfect for one another.

Overall I enjoyed it. I especially love finding out more about who the big baddie really is (holy shit I did not see that coming!) And finding his younger brother (finally!) Which I really enjoyed meeting him. I already love him too.

Can't wait until the next!

I am a huge Skolov fan! They are the best possessive alphas in any omegaverse I have read! Alexi and Keira were so perfect for each and their chemistry was off the charts spicy. The search for their lost brother and sister has finally gotten some results and I cannot wait for the next book.

Broken Heir by Alison Aimes is the third book in the Ruthless Warlords series. I am so in love with these stories. Alexi Skolov and Keira Sartin both Broken Heirs are explosive characters.
Alexis’ backstory is one of heartbreak, pain and suffering. (I’m sure I cried when it was revealed). Even though Alexi is Alpha – he struggles with self-worth, confidence and inner strength. Keira is the perfect mate for him. Keira’s past is heartbreaking as well however, she took another approach and is compact with inner strength, passion and perseverance. These characters complimented each other perfectly.
Jason and Stella were absolutely amazing yet again. They are quickly becoming a favorite narration pair of mine. Both narrators brought out the strength and the weaknesses of these characters and made Alison’s already fantastic writing, just that much more.
Overall, I am all in on this series, this book is my favorite so far. If you’re already deep into the Omegaverse or not and looking to put a toe in, this is the series for you.
