And just like that…
They say everything must come to an end, and I guess that’s true, but man I’m going to miss this world that Lena created.
We are finally getting MJ’s story, and it was the perfect way to wrap up this series. Without too much drama, and with the perfect amount of heat Lena gave us a series finale that we hoped for.
MJ is always the little sister or the funny sidekick, but never leading lady material, or so she thought. Until she met Logan in one of the best meet cutes I’ve read in a while. Both of these two are not prepared for the way they are drawn to each other, and watching them fall is so fun to read.
This series is going on my top ten small town list. I have had a blast reading Lena’s Outtatowner books, be it Sullivan or King, I’m going to miss them all!

Feels like being back home in outtatowner… absolutely love the place, love the plot.
It was so refreshing to finally see MJ get happy, taken care of and all that!
MJ has been a favorite since she first appeared in the Sullivan books, it was a long awaited book, and it was worth the wait.
Logan is also a big teddy bear and I love that so much!
I could definitely deal with a little less of that annoying ex, but it was all so good anyway!!

It was finally our sweet sweet MJ’s turn at love! I thought the opening of this book was very clever and got you hooked at the start. I loved how Logan was so thoughtful and intentional in his care and courtship. He wanted MJ to feel strong and secure- he really helped her find her way back to confident self. So I loved that aspect of their dynamic. Based on the opening of the book I was expecting a lot more fun banter back and forth. I wanted more of a flirty banter and verbal sparring vibe but that did not suit MJ’s character so it made sense. I also felt that the subplot involving the fallout of Russell King for the siblings needed to be fleshed out more. After all that man did, it felt rushed and unpacked. Despite that I did enjoy this book.
Graphic: Violence
Moderate: Emotional abuse, Death of parent
Minor: Dementia, Abandonment
