È stata una lettura molto semplice e leggera, la narrazione però non racconta nulla che non sappiamo già.
Sarebbe stato bello approfondire ancora di più la storia di Medusa e concentrarsi di più sul suo personaggio e chissà magari anche creando un finale alternativo.
Non consiglio vivamente a chi a voglia di immergersi in un fantasy mitologico bene fatto perché ne rimarrà deluso a parer mio.

A heart wrenching tale of one of the most interesting Greek characters, Medusa. Hearing her story and intentions really does paint her in a different light. This was a quick & easy read. I loved the beginning, but everything after her curse felt rushed to me.
Trying to read as many Medusa-related books right now; just before this one I read The Shadow of Perseus by Claire Heywood (meh) and Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes (good). But both those books made Perseus into an unbelievable villain whose motivations didn't make a lot of sense to me.
So, it was refreshing to read Athena's Child, which did a good job of humanizing the characters--well, for all characters except Athena, whose motivations I did not understand. Still, a very poignant and thoughtful take on the subject.

Quick read. Very short. Light on character development. Jumps between characters with gaps in time make it seem like parts are missing.

2.5 perché non è un libro così orribile ma è un retelling piuttosto superficiale, con una narrazione rapidissima (l'ho terminato in poche ore) che non si sofferma sul personaggio di Medusa delineandolo appieno.
I enjoyed this book for a quick airport read. I usually enjoy mythology based fiction. I found it a little bit simple and honestly a little short. Enjoyable but I would call it just good.
