I loved the movie and thought it would be fun to read a screenplay. It helped to read some of the lines because I missed a few things in the movie. I love the cover too.
I tend to be bias when reading anything by JK Rowling and I won't pretend that I wasn't bias reading this screenplay. I reallyyyyyy wanted to see this movie in theaters but I didn't get a chance. I have no doubt that this book was amazing in film form. The descriptions of the beasts were beautiful and Newt is a hoot.

It was good to re-visit this movie with the book. I thought about the actual scenes while reading. A good welcome back to the universe.

Update 2/11/18: I've seen the film.
I'm glad I read the screenplay first. I loved seeing how that was translated to film. I hope to do that again with Crimes of Grindewald .
How have I not seen this film yet? - 3*
I think I only enjoyed this book this much because I haven't seen the film so the whole plotline, the characters and the adventure aspect of it was new and exciting to me. If I had seen the film, I would have been bored because it is just the film in a book and I don't know what film I love that much, I would want to read the script after seeing the film.
I feel like it was a little spoiled for me because I guessed the ending as I was convinced it had something to do with The Crimes of Grindewald as I've seen glimspes of that trailer.
So anyway, I'm going to watch the film today because it has made me so excited for it. I don't understand how it got best book at the Goodreads Awards 2017 and nominated at the 2018 awards when people are CLEARLY voting for the film in a book competition. There are much worthy winners, guys. Go vote for them. I also don't think I want to ever read a screenplay after I've seen the film but yeah this was good for me. Now, off to the film!

I am absolutely in love with Newt Scamander. I loved this glimpse into the American wizard world. Time to watch the movie!!
