Maybe I'll read this in French

Oh, what a journey, what a ride. Reading this collection was a fascinating dive into Emily Dickinson's mind and I learned so much, not only about her and her life, but also about poetry editing. I am grateful to have been gifted the Variorum Edition as a birthday present last year and can only recommend lovers of Emily Dickinson's poetry to get a copy. I firmly believe that having read this edition made my experience even more enjoyable

It was fine but nothing special. It’s good to read and learn from it. But it wasn’t life changing or moving.

Really that I could say anything of value about her or the extraordinary, always-surprising work, is laughable.

Get very close to the screen, preferably huddled in a blanket, and marvel.

i love her.
i adore her. ugh she's insanely such a talented poet aaa

her poems are unlike the others, its lyrical, its stunning, breath taking, all of the above!!
this is my most annotated paperback i owned! i love taking my time to digest the beautiful sentences and write my opinions on them.

cried a little when i was reading a certain poem that is very obvious that it had written for sue. MY HEART- i cant

hereby, one of the poem that i cherish till this day,
The moon was but a chin of gold
A night or two ago,
And now she turns her perfect face
Upon the world below.

Her forehead is of amplest blond;
Her cheek like beryl stone;
Her eye unto the summer dew
The likest I have known.

Her lips of amber never part;
But what must be the smile
Upon her friend she could bestow
Were such silver will!

And what a privilege to be
But the remotest star!
For certainly her way might pass
Beside your twinkling door.

Her bonnet is the firmament,
The universe her shoe,
The stars the trinkets at her belt,
Her dimities of blue.
