The nature poems were a solid 5 for me though. So pretty.

I picked this up because one of my best friends wrote her undergrad thesis on Dickinson's "tell the truth, but tell it slant" manner of writing. Still love it!

I am officially obsessed with one Emily Dickinson. I feel bad marking this as read when we probably only read 50 of her nearly 2000 poems, but I am sure she will be a lifelong companion from now on. Her effortless, idiosyncratic way of explaining the universe shakes me every time; she sets my soul on fire. Valeria Luiselli (this week's read) breaks down "enthusiasm" as "en. theos. seismos" or in god, tremor. This is how I feel about Dickinson: the voice of the goddess capable of shaking the earth to its very core.

So lovely. Nearly thirteen years after I first discovered Emily, I still love her best.

I love Emily Dickenson she is my all time favorite poet, right next to Poe of course.
