I was excited to get to M & P’s story. It took me a while to get into it but then I was very intrigued. The ending felt rushed however and some things just seemed unfinished. I listened to it so perhaps reading it in book form will demand more of my presence.

Someone else mentioned the lack of urgency in this story as compared to the original trilogy. I think I bumped up against that, too. Everything is mostly settled from the start. The most interesting conflict is between Baldwin and Diana and Matthew, and even that seems to resolve itself easily.

If you're a history buff this is a great book. Otherwise, you'll probably tire of Marcus' backstory. The main characters of the first three books make only cameo appearances here.

This one is so good. I loved all the backstory for Marcus. It took me right back to how the second book was written for Diana and Matthew's time walking. I also loved seeing Phoebe and Marcus develop their relationship. The only thing is it took me the entire book to remember who Miriam was.
