This is my favorite Gena book. Her humor is great. When you snort out loud and pray no one heard you, you know it's good.

This one was ok. The concept was cute, but the writing was a bit slow.
lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

Like such a dumb premise omg, but I guess sometimes hot? And amusing in how bad it is?

it was pretty good. the only thing i didn't like about this book was Jorlan's attitude at the begin of the book, thinking women were all weak and had to be feminie. oh and what' i hated about the main femal character's family as well. they thought she wasn't feminie enough to have a guy or to cook. but aside from that, it was a pretty good book.

Gena Showalter has long been one of my favorite authors, ever since I picked up the first book in her Lords series, I have been hooked on anything this women writes.

This book is no exception. The plot is amazing, with twists, turns, old fashioned malevolence, violence with a spatula, booze, sex, and some self sacrifice. It doesn't get anymore perfect. The characters are strong and vibrant, they stay with you after you have finished the story. The sensuality in this story is pretty top notch too, kept me warm through the snow storm this past Saturday ;)

I already have the next book in this series on the way to me. I can't wait to read it.

The book is pretty expensive at the moment since it is out of print, so I didn't post a link, you can prob get the ebook on eharlequin.com or it is due to reprint Jan 2011.

Um... kind of a miss for me. I can't really explain the exact reason why but I just really didn't like either one of the characters. Katie had a bunch of brothers who treated her like one of the guys.. they treated her like any brother would treat a younger sister but they also saved her from her father treating her like a "woman" (making food, cleaning, etc..) So in my opinion she has always had her brothers so I really don't understand her "I am more than a woman. Treat me more than a woman. I can do everything a man can" attitude. And then she would get insecure when she changed a tire in front of Jorlan because it was too manly... She was annoying as hell. She did that the whole freaking book.

And Jorlan was annoying as well.. just not as annoying. He was just being himself so I didn't mind him as much. The story was good if I could ignore Katie. I hated the ending. I don't want to give anything away but I just hated how everything wrapped up.

Yeah so not one of my favorite Gena Showalter books for sure. I'll read the next one because I would have liked this one a lot more if it weren't for Katie so hopefully the next characters are better!!

although from the first of Gena's works it was funny and easy read!
