It’s tricky to recommend any book to friends/family when the protagonist is so clearly flawed from the first page. It can be draining to read, especially if the reader hasn’t personally experienced the effects of severe mental illness, familial turmoil, addiction, etc.

This book helped me determine that all I really want is for these deeply flawed characters to be both validated in their suffering and brought back to reality when they’re sinking too deep into delusions about themselves and the world around them. (This is me projecting, by the way. I’m the one that desperately needs these things lol)

Definitely not for everyone, but totally what I needed to read right now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
