Yeah, his eyes say. That was really something.
It was, I agree. And I’m going to protect that something with my life.

3.5 stars. Another great entry in this series; another really fun time! Uncomplicated, really sweet, really sexy, but with enough emotional depth to really solidify it as a great read.

This one is a best friends to lovers trope with a newly divorced Griff, who has only been with his ex-wife and is ready to explore single life to the fullest, and Heath, his perpetually single best friend, and also the manager at their motel. This really worked for me as a friends to lovers romance, because the author did a great job of convincing the reader that there was a lot of chemistry and attraction between them, but it completely makes sense why it was never acted on in the 20 plus years of their friendship. Griffin's been happily married up until a few years ago, and Heath was happily single. The way that they tease each other and feel each other out when they realise that there is a spark of attraction just seemed so natural for best friends. They weren't completely awkward or weird about it, but they also didn't take it completely in stride. And I guess I just like romances with friends who realise that they also love each other in a different, perhaps deeper way.

It has the kind of typical plot where Heath has promised to show Griff the single life, take him out to bars, get him laid etc, but of course, there's this pull between them and they can't resist acting on it. That was fun, and I really liked the involvement of the friend group. The conflict is mostly to do with Griff's family and him not wanting to reveal the relationship just as yet. I also really liked the storyline with Heath and his devotion to Griff battling with his other commitments, and other things he might want to do. I really like how it ended up being resolved. It felt natural and sweet, without being too self-sacrificing. I really enjoyed how the author gave a sense of just how comfortable they've always been with each other, and their romance was just so swoony and intense and made me smile a lot.

Listened to the audiobook as read by Nick J. Russo, and really really enjoyed it. He does such a great job with really putting emotion into characters' voices and is quickly becoming one of my favourite narrators. We got a lot of hints for the other couples for the rest of the series, so I'm pretty excited to eventually read further on.

Dobra rozrywka, ale nie będę pamiętać o niej długo.

Loved their relationship but nothing can convince me that a man aged 45 at his big age was so worried about his grown ass son having a fit about him divorcing and moving on.

In reality that’s a big change but the way this was written only served to irritate me and want to slap the shit out of his son Felix. Like at 18?! You running from lunches and throwing temper tantrums? Nah LMAO

Outside of that, loved Heath & Griff <3

4.5 stars. Really sweet and fun book. Both men are well developed characters that you really feel connected to.

Another super cute one. Best friends to lovers that had several sizzling moments of tension. And for once described docking in such a way that I could possibly recognize the appeal.

Griff snd Heath

PLEASE be aware that this review is meant for my own purposes only in order to help me recall this book and is in no way a reflection of what I think anyone else will like or want out of a book. It is simply a memory aid and a rough voice-to-text which is completely unedited/reviewed for errors. Read at your own discretion.

Griff and his wife are getting divorced as soon as their son Felix goes to college. Once he does, Griff is at a loss wanting to hookup (he’s bi but gas only ever been with his wife) but feels old and insecure and has no idea how to proceed. His BFF (who is gay) Heath is there for him. They have never had feelings for each other, but start to notice one another. They end up hooking up and being together but Griff is scared to tell his ex and son. Also, there is a sub plot regarding the resort hotel that Griffin his wife owned. Griffith is the general handyman and Heath runs the place. Eventually, they tell Felix and the whole town finds out because Griff kisses Heath in public. But it all works out.

I like this book because it’s a little unusual to have middle-aged main characters who are struggling with that but overcome it easily.

Connections: we meet Felix, who has his own book in the Franklin University series.

I do love a friends to lovers - but found this one boring at times. But overall, still an enjoyable fun read.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: here’s an author always guaranteed to put a smile on my face.

we’re back in Kilborough once again with the DMC, this time with lifelong best friends Griff & Heath.

Griff and his (soon to be ex-)wife have been biding their time to officially divorce. The date is finally here, since their son Felix is starting his freshman year at Franklin University (hint hint, nudge nudge
