Now that their son Felix is off to college, Griff and Poppy are finally splitting up to live their best lives having realized they're not meant to be.
Bisexual Griff, with the help of his best friend Heath, is trying to get back out there and maybe just hook up with a guy rather than do the serious relationshipy thing again.
Spoiler alert: Heath and Griff end up hooking up.
Blah blah secrets because plot, blah blah secrets come out because more plot.
The book is fine. This series is fine all together. I like Griff and Heath as characters but I never had the warm fuzzies that I long for.
It's a cute (and worthwhile) read but nothing stellar, in my opinion.

The plot is set up to be more stressful than it turns out to be, though that did take something away from the story for me, I think.

“What if we crossed that line … just once?” Well, the problem becomes obvious when once is not enough. No matter how hard Griff and Heath try to ‘not’ fall for each other, it’s difficult when they are already best friends and adore each other in every other way.
Griff, newly separated and on his way to divorce, is trying to adjust to being single first time in his adult life. He is uncertain and questions every move. He is literally freaking out of the thought of going out, hooking up with someone. Yet the more Heath tries to help him gain confidence and be open for a hookup, the more Griff notices Heath … it’s almost like now that they are ‘allowed’ to look they cannot keep their eyes away from each other … and their hands … and their body. And they are HOT together, have no doubt about it! When their explosive night bears awkwardness they adorably keep dancing around each other. There are so many things Griff is worried about other than a few grays: his ex-wife is one of Heath’s best friends and his son, Felix still calls Heath his uncle. And even though they have a kind of ‘I can read your mind’ friendship with Heath there are a million reasons why they shouldn’t be more. I thoroughly enjoyed following the growth of their relationship, ups and downs, light and heavy parts. I loved the playful ribbing from all other divorced men and their partners (the group texts are ridiculous) … this is always one of the funniest parts of the books in this series, this found family vibe. I cannot wait to see how the other guys find their partners!

I love Saxon James. I love friends-to-lovers. I love when there’s no third act breakup. This book was just overall a very good time
