Warning: this book is very dark.
That being said, it was interesting to see a depiction of a scientific sleuth. While parts were highly unbelievable, it was intriguing to see how interdisciplinary thinking was an advantage. It was very hard to put down, and was surprising.

I'll read one more of the series and see if I feel better - a biologist and computer specialist that uses his special skills to solve crimes, in a unique way, sounds interesting.
A guy that meets a woman, and the next day vows to die to save her. :(
A science nerd that goes hand to hand with the bad guy. :(

It was a very good read, at least in the moment. It was very very thrilling and exciting to read, and I found myself hooked (I couldn't put it down). I had to know what happened and what was going to happen. I also liked the blending of science (however accurate) and nature into the novel, which is what originally brought me into it as a nature enthusiast. Some things make less sense the more you think about them, but that's only after the read. You've got to suspend your disbelief just a little bit.

Binged on it like I do on an above - average Crime/Thriller TV-Show on a rainy Sunday.

As a murder mystery, it was ok. It was elevated by the amount of science sprinkled in. The poor protagonist (Theo) got beat up way too many times for my taste.

Science that you can understand and is quite funny.
