One of the best books that I have read this year! The plot, characters is so good!

If you want to read enemies to lovers, books with mythology, fantasy and female protagonist with daggers (wink, wink*) Then go read this book!

You have no idea how much I wanted to love this but I just didn’t buy their relationship at all. We went from “sorry you made me kidnap you” to “we’re super in love, Mom” fast.

I wanted to like this SO much but sadly, I didn't.
It started in a really intriguing and fascinating way but I lost interest after 250 pages. After that point the story became a bit repetitive and i stopped caring about the characters.
I'll give it 3 stars because the idea behind the book was fascinating and the magic system was also well developped and i loved learning about it.

This was a great first book to a series. I seriously fell in love with Sabine and I am so glad she became her badass self by the end. I cannot wait to see what happens next and the twist ending was fantastic.

This is such a unique, well written book with a plot that draws you in and keeps you turning the pages for hours on end. I really struggled to put this book down!

Bone Crier’s Moon is about a group of women, known as Leurress or Bone Crier’s, who’s sole purpose is to ferry the souls of the dead to Tyrus’ underworld or Elara’s paradise. There are two types of souls:-
• The Chained - who are condemned for crimes committed whilst living, these are sent to Tyrus’ underworld.
• The Unchained - these are innocent souls who get to be ferried into Elara’s paradise.
If the dead are not ferried once a month then they become restless souls and can harm the living.
To become a Ferrier the Leuress must obtain 3 grace bones which they acquire through hunting and killing animals. They must choose wisely the animals that they kill because each animal will give the Leuress a certain attribute, for example: strength, enhanced vision, healing, speed, balance. Upon collecting their 3 grace bones, the Leuress is then required to complete a task which will require her to kill one final time, only this time, it is her soulmate. She will lure him to a bridge using a bone flute where she will dance for him and then decide when to kill him, she has up to a year to complete this task otherwise both she and her soulmate will die.

At first I was a bit upset about the animals that are required to die for the main plot point in this story but as I read it more and more I really found it to be such a unique concept. I also really loved that whilst the animals were killed, they weren’t unecessarily killed, their deaths had a purpose and I think I’ve not yet read a book that uses animal bones as a magic system so I really enjoyed that too.

This was such a well written book, the written was beautiful and flowed well. I found it to be such a fast read because I was completely drawn in and had to know what was happening next.

In all I think only 2 things let this book down for me personally, otherwise this may have ended up being a 5 star read.

One of these thing was the characters. I did really like them so it’s not a connection issue, more of a...they did some really dumb things issue. I get that the things that happened had to happen for the story to progress but my gosh they all did some of the must dumb things I’ve ever known characters do. I was constantly sat reading like ‘why....?!’ But apart from that, I really liked them. I liked the relationships they all had with each other and even the villain, who I know we are supposed to hate, I just found myself liking.

The last thing I didn’t really find whilst reading this book was much of an atmosphere. I didn’t find it completely atmospheric and I wish I did because it could of been amazing! I wish we had more background on the villain, more background on the characters, the world and the mythology of it all. That probably would of helped with the atmosphere and made the story a lot more wholesome.

Overall, as I said above, this is such a unique story which held a lot of intrigue for me so I kept turning the pages.
