Reminded me of a Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer type of story. Great, easy read!

I listened to the audio version of this book. The storytelling is extremely well crafted. Weaving the three experiences together was masterful writing. A little fantastical in its events it was still engaging and heart warming. Probably would’ve given it 4.5 stars but Goodreads doesn’t allow for half stars!

This one took me forever to read, I was just not that into it, unfortunately.

Raft of Stars is a good mix of adventure, likable characters, nature symbolism and emotional pull. This was a good find in an airport book store and bonus points for this Iowa grad in finding another strong University of Iowa Writer’s Workshop graduate’s work. Four stars and recommended for a wide variety of readers including book clubs.

The challenge of friendship, with non-stop, unpredictable adventures.
