I found a lot of solace in the exploration of Bechdel’s repressed father and queer daughter bond. I also enjoyed the focus on place, whether it be local geographies, the interior design of Bechdels family home, or escapes to new york city. I would love to look back at this book through the lens of queer ecology - exploring the overlappings of place/environment, literature, and queerness.
Definitely a favorite of mine but I need to emotionally recover before rereading this anytime soon.

Addicting as it is inspiring, Fun Home; A Family Tragicomic connects you to Alison Bechdels memoir. Coming out as a lesbian and discovering that her father was also gay, but committed suicide, I think this book is a way de connects to him in way that makes me want to grow closer to my father even if he is as complex as her dad. No family is the perfect family but hers makes me laugh:) and have so much commission.

Ugh so good and so tragic. Loved the way that Bechdel described her family dynamics and the images that accompanied the story. <3
