Fans of Wake and Fade will definitely want to check this one out, but I did not care for the ending.
Ok so I read a lit of negative reviews before I read this book so I prepared myself. The first 2 books made me cry & the relationship between Cabel & Janie was beautiful. I'm not saying this was an awful book. I just felt it was a little hollow compared to the first two. Really I felt like it did give some closure to the series, it just wasn't as intense as the others. I liked knowing about janies father & how her mothers relationship with him came about & what brought in her alcholism. I also felt in a different way the author still portrayed Janies strength by making her confront her vulnerabilities with her past, her dream catching, her mother & her unsure future with or without Cabel. This I felt was realistic. No, there was no mystery or crime to solve. But this was what it was eventually going to have to come down to for her. So, all in all it was a satisfying enough end to the series. Definitly could have been better, but I don't feel like it's as bad as some made it out to be.
Gone - the last book in the Wake trilogy. Well, I finally finished it, I still felt like I was reading a edited version or something. Sometimes I didn't get it, it kept shifting from one subject to another without knowing. Besides that I really liked the plot. I was happy with Janie's decision in the end.

This was not an easy book to finish, mostly because I was afraid of the choice Janie would make in the end. Truly, I cannot say as much as I'd like to, as I wish to keep this review spoiler free, but I applaud Janie for making the decision she did. It was not an easy one, I'm sure, bittersweet as it is, but the fact that she did shows how brave she is, a characteristic of hers present from Book 1.
Lisa McMann's writing is flawless. I do hope her other books are also written in this form, because if they are, I will most definitely be reading them too. :)

Third and final book in the trilogy. This one had an interesting twist, and I applaud Lisa McMann for knowing "when to say when." Great trilogy, but glad it's only three books!
It was a really quick read- I enjoyed it for the most part. I feel like I might have liked it more if I had read the first two.
