I felt the beginning was a little slow to get into and then halfway I got really into it. This has some even better life lessons and valuable things to learn to apply to life. I loved the ending more than the first book!

i need to update with my review when i'm more emotionally at peace with this book ðŸ˜
words can't describe how much i adore this series, i don't remember when i last cried at a book and this had me weeping. i felt every emotion with every character and can't wait to go into The Winners (after at least 24 hours to process the events of Us Against You)

I received a copy of this book from a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. Thank you!
The story picks up where the first book left off. Everyone is still struggling to come to terms with Kevin’s actions and the consequences they will have on the team. The story follows the tough choices that the general manager, Peter Andersson, has to make to save Beartown hockey and how those choices affect and sometimes alienate his family and Beartown citizens.
Overall, the story was great and well written. Even though the author didn’t go very deep into many aspects of the players’ lives, I learned enough to give me a strong sense of their characters. I was quickly pulled back into continuing stories as well as the newer plotlines. Benji’s storyline was one of the most intense and heartbreaking, but learning more about the other players’ backgrounds made me root for Beartown’s team even more.

2.5 rounded up to 3 for Goodreads. Definitely not as good as the first one, in my opinion. I didn’t connect with the characters (even a lot of them were the same) and the storyline as much as the first.
