I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. Still good, but I found it confusing at times (all the political subplots) and just overall very sad.

I didn’t finish this book before it was returned to the library, but it took me a long time to get into it. I don’t know what about this series isn’t really doing it for me, but I think I’m done with it. The plot was interesting as the story went on, but I’m fine reading a plot summary for the rest of the book.
This had me feeling all sorts of ways. Even better than the first book.

I love these people and I love this trilogy and all of Backman’s writing. I will say I felt less emotionally impacted by the crisis in this book than I did in the first one, but regardless I am on to book 3
