Sometimes the POV changes were a little hard to follow. I don't know if it was the book itself or the fact that I was listening to it. Having a female narrator for Dominika would have definitely helped. Other than that, it was a fun spy thriller that I felt was timely considering the recent Spy Balloon drama. I kept thinking back to when I went through the International Spy Museum in DC. It was interesting to explore the world of espionage. The recipes at the end of each chapter were an unexpected delight. They left my mouth watering.

This novel didn't work for me. I don't see what others saw. I found it boring and lacking in tempo, chemistry of characters, and so many other things. Also I could not understand the relevance of any of the recipes being spouted off like it was a plot point - it brought no significance to the story for me and somehow added to the already lagging story.

Felt like a very very long book! :-(

Great spy story! I just want to keep reading more of Neyt and Dominika..... Hope Jason Matthews writes a sequel.

Listened to the book. Good, but very intense!

Super fun spy story. And, now I see it’s part of a trilogy

A challenging audiobook to listen to due to the writing/narration being in third person and sometimes it was hard to figure out who the narration was about at a given point. Lots of foreign names, thankfully being a native Russian speaker has helped me recognize them. It was helpful to have a base level knowledge of CIA slang, and Russian equivalents of FBI and CIA. I would recommend reading the book instead of listening to the audiobook version. Excited to move on to the next one in the series.

I picked up this book after watching the movie and was not disappointed. I don’t have much history in the espionage genre but this a great entry. Very well written and interesting throughout. I’ve already picked up the sequel and can’t wait to start it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book through and through. I don't usually enjoy novels like this, but it seems I had troubles putting this one down. This novel had enough twists and turns to keep me wondering what's going to happen.
Would recommend.

Great books, but the movie is hillarrrrioussly cheet.
