Such a good story. I have got to read more of her books! The topic of cheating in a marriage (not condoned and not the main couple) was handled with such grace by the author and by our fmc. And to watch Rachel grow and overcome it and find herself again after that was so beautiful and inspiring. That plotline will get me every time and this one was done beautifully.
The childhood friends to lovers trope is also so good and this handled the anxiety between the two and crossing that line so realistically which i appreciate.
My favorite representation in this entire book, though, was the ADHD rep in our mmc. Setting reminders for every little thing in his day. Not just a to-do list but actual alarms on his phone so he wouldnt forget (and then still sometimes forgot). The time blindness and chronic lateness. His constantly changing hobbies. The little things he does in his daily life. I felt so seen and understood and i love mental health representation in books. Especially in men. Especially in professional athletes (oh yeah did i mention hes an NFL player?)
Tropes: childhood friends to lovers; mental illness (ADHD) rep; fake dating-ish; single sitting read

Plays Well With Others is one of those stories we have come to love from Lauren, the perfect amount of heart and heat. I adored Rachel and Carter’s heartfelt friends to lovers romance. The begin to fake date for the app that Carter is working with and both have an attraction for each other and the lines begin to blur between what’s real and what’s fake. I loved seeing these two go on dates and him give her the experiences she never had with her ex husband. Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon narrate this book and they were a perfect duo to bring these characters stories to life. I enjoyed both of their performances.
So fake dating your friend rarely goes as planned.
Carter and Rachel find this one out in this hilarious, steamy story.
Rachel is celebrating her divorce and moves to start fresh in San Francisco. She starts a business and reconnects with a bunch of her friends including Carter.
Carter had signed up to do a fake dating series for a sponsorship and Rachel agrees to do this with him.
Thoroughly enjoyed Carter's character. He is confident, sexy and quite the dirty talker. He also has ADHD. We need more books with characters like this. My son suffers from ADHD and it's always refreshing to read about the ladies (or men) that will embrace this about their partners.
I listened to the audio version of this and it was narrated by absolute superstars... Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton are the dream team.

Best friends turned oops! I saw your boobs, turned fake dating/pretend dating girlfriend lessons for a business contract, mixed with accidental shower voyeurism and her getting an eyeful. Add in a douchebag ex-husband, a few less than understanding ex gfs, lingerie, baking, mini-golf, and hair braiding. Rachel and Carter's story has it all, including cameos from Axel (his half-brother) and Hazel. Humor, heat, sweetness, and aside from his having two "Big Game" rings and presumably boatloads of cash, it's actually almost believable

Meh. It took 35% to get to a decent steamy scene and the author’s style just doesn’t cut it for me.
Many people love her writing, though. It’s just not my cup of tea. I won’t be reading anything else from her.
