was a super cute read, also loved how there was no breakup halfway through due to miscommunication.

Best friends to lovers..
Such a great plot and extra spicy scenes.
Banter, flirting, girlfriend lessons... What more could you want!
I loved reading Rachel and Carter's story after briefly meeting Carter's character in My so-called Sex life.

3.5 rounded down

friends to lovers is always a trope I’ll like LOL and this was such a fun read
I loved how carter was always there for rachel and their chemistry was >>>>
the ending was a little too rushed tho at least for my taste but STILL SUPER SWEET

I could not put this book down.

Carter and Rachel have known each other for years and consider themselves to be 'best friends'.

After Rachel divorces her cheating ex-husband, she moves back to San Francisco to be close to all of her friends who live there. She spends a lot of time with Carter, and while she's nervous about getting back out in the dating world, she finally makes a decision, with Carter's input, that he'll teach her how dating should go. Initially intended to be one date for a sponsor of Carter's, it turns into 5 dates, but they spend so much time hanging out as friends, it's almost like they are dating the whole time.

Carter has feelings for Rachel. He has for years, but in that classic romance trope, he's afraid that if he says anything to her, they won't be able to be friends anymore. Funny, Rachel feels the same way.

Rachel goes through a lot of personal growth in this story. Carter learns how to quit approaching every event in his life like it's a professional football game.

The head coach of the football team is an interesting side note - he's so cute with his daughter, but I don't recall ever hearing about a follow-up story for him.

Lighthearted reading - you don't really get dragged down into any angsty moments because it's obvious they are going to get the HEA right. The fun is in watching it happen.

2nd read through of the San Francisco Renegades series - and while this is listed as book 2 in "How To Date", it's also a continuation of the Ballers and Babes since that's Carter's team.

Ok! I'm screaming over here! I'm such a sucker for friends, turn, lover reads! Where are all the Carters out there?!?! The love and adoration he has for Rachel is just, swooning! So far, definitely my FAVORITE Lauren Blakely read.

I love a good friends to lovers trope, and Carter and Rachel were so so good!

They've been friends for years, but neither has realized their feelings for the other until now. Rachel is getting away from a toxic marriage & Carter is pretty much over dating since his former fiancé took off. After Rachel's divorce party (go girl!) & Carter needing to fulfill a contract with a dating app, they decide to "un-date" and Carter give Rachel "girlfriend lessons".

This leads to all the spice! They explore all the things Rachel may like, and also go on the "dates" for Carter to show her how she should be treated. Leading to feelings, and realization that they are IT for each other.

Absolutely loved this one, their journey was so fun and sweet and spicy!
